ML4Q Fiber Lab Develops Quantum Gas Microscope with Depth Perception

In a publication in Physical Review A, the ML4Q Fiber Lab presents the development of a quantum gas microscope that can pinpoint the horizontal and vertical positions of atoms arranged in a lattice. The paper was also featured in Physics.

This paper discusses the development of a quantum gas microscope with enhanced depth perception, capable of precisely mapping the three-dimensional positions of atoms in an optical lattice. The new technique, developed by Tangi Legrand and colleagues at the University of Bonn, uses a spatial light modulator to improve depth measurement accuracy. This advancement allows for more precise quantum simulations and computations, especially in three-dimensional structures where vertical atom positioning is crucial.
