ML4Q Networking & Career Days
The ML4Q Networking & Career Days bring together young scientists from the cluster and our alumni, working in the field of quantum science and technology, in both academic and non-academic environments. Talks on their career paths, followed by informal Q&A sessions and individual interactions, provide a broader view of professional development opportunities and help build a network. In addition, more junior participants (e.g., Master’s students and ML4Q summer interns) have a chance to learn more about research conducted in the cluster and opportunities for undergraduate students.

Networking Career Day 2023
In 2023, a new format of Career Talks was introduced. During the half-day session, we not only hosted cluster alumni Jan Klos ( from ARQUE Systems, RWTH Aachen) and David Wierichs (Xanadu), but also ML4Q professors Annika Kurzmann and Erwann Bocquillon, who provided insights into their career paths and current research. Meeting in person allowed for vivid interactions between speakers and participants.
Career Talk 2022 - Academia - Research & Management
The ML4Q Career Talk in 2022 was of particular interest to those considering an academic career or interested in science management. In an informal setting, our guests Mariami Gachechiladze and Andrea Bliesener shared their personal experiences. One discussion focused on becoming a professor in Germany (after some international moves, as detailed in this video), while the other covered transitioning from the lab to office work, addressing issues of diversity, equal opportunities, and managing the cluster. Despite the online format, there were plenty of opportunities to ask questions and engage in discussions with our guests.
Career Talk 2021 - Research in Academia and Industry
In the first Career Talk we hosted Dr. Dante Kennes (Uni – Prof. at RWTH Aachen, ML4Q member) and Dr. Christian Gogolin (Expert for Quantum Computing at Covestro) who talked about doing research in acadmia and industry.
