ML4Q member and Cologne site representative, Professor David Gross, successfully acquired BMWK funds within the ProvideQ project consortium.

ProvideQ is one of six winning projects of the funding call “Quantum Computing – Applications for Industry” with which the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection supports research, development and innovation projects that prove and demonstrate the technical feasibility, viability and usefulness of quantum computing using relevant, practical applications.

The project is led and coordinated by Professor Ina Schaefer and Professor Sándor Fekete from the Leibniz Universität Hannover.  The goal is to extend established modeling systems of classical optimization by quantum algorithmic methods and to make such new quantum computing methods available to industry without the need for separate research departments.

Further consortial members are mathematicians from the TU Braunschweig, quantum information theorists at Leibniz Universität Hannover, quantum computing experts at Johannes Kepler University Linz, as well as the optimization service providers GAMS and 4flow.
