ML4Q Annual Conference Brings the Cluster Together in Königswinter
With a scenic view of the Rhine, the ML4Q community came together for three vibrant days of science, planning, and networking at the 2023 Annual Cluster Conference. Members, associate members, and interns from all cluster sites followed a packed agenda, discussing current research and exploring future prospects for the cluster and quantum computing as a whole.
Six keynote speakers, a range of cluster talks, and two poster sessions sparked discussions in the conference halls, showcasing the latest advances in the field and highlighting areas of future potential. A standout moment was the keynote by special guest Martina Erlemann from Freie Universität Berlin, who addressed Gender and Diversity in the Cultures of Physics in a talk that engaged the audience and inspired many questions.
Cluster members at various career stages contributed to parallel discussions in preparation for the upcoming ML4Q2 application. The event also introduced the new cluster project structure and presented the updated cluster governance architecture.
Beyond research, the annual conference remains a key opportunity for scientific exchange, social connection, and learning about the support structures and opportunities ML4Q offers researchers at every stage of their career.
