One central milestone in the cluster’s mission is the attraction of excellent young talents in the highly dynamic field of quantum computing. This was achieved in the last few years by the establishment of several professorships at all cluster sites. Newly hired ML4Q professors will be therefore guests on our podcast, thus introducing them and their research to our cluster community as well as our broader audience.

Today we start with Erwann Bocquillon, ML4Q professor at the 2nd Institute of Physics at the University of Cologne who started his group in October 2021. They talk about Erwann’s educational and research journey touching upon differences between studying physics in France and Germany. They also discuss electron quantum optics and learn about Erwann’s best memory from his PhD time.
