Silvia Pappalardi was appointed by the University of Cologne to start her ML4Q professorship as of April 2023. She will lead a research group research focusing on the study of quantum chaos and out-of-equilibrium dynamics of quantum many-body systems viewed through the lens of quantum information theory and statistical mechanics. The group is based in the Institute of Theoretical Physics of the University of Cologne

Silvia is moving from Paris from her former academic position as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellow in the Department of Physics at the École Normale Supérieure. Previously, Silvia was a postdoc in the group of Kris van Houcke at Laboratoire de Physique de l’Ecole Normale Supérieure (LPENS), Paris. She absolved her undergraduate and PhD studies in Rome (Theoretical Physics, La Sapienza Università di Roma) and Trieste (Condensed Matter Theory, SISSA).

A very warm welcome to Silvia and to many years of exciting collaborations!
