ML4Q Concepts Series #10 Kicks Off: Novel Approaches in Scalable Quantum Computing
The tenth round of the ML4Q Concepts seminar series has successfully kicked off! This edition focuses on Novel Approaches in Scalable Quantum Computing and is organized by Markus Müller and Fabian Hassler.
The opening seminar on 29 October featured Monika Aidelsburger from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, who presented experiments using neutral-atom quantum simulators to prepare and investigate exotic quantum states known as U(1) quantum spin liquids.
Four further talks will follow until the end of November, covering a range of approaches to building and scaling quantum technologies:
-
5 November – Christoph Eichler (Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg): Hardware-efficient error correction and the path from laboratory innovation to industrial-scale quantum computers.
-
12 November – Mariami Gachechiladze (TU Darmstadt): New methods for reliably certifying qubit gate fidelities despite errors in state preparation and measurement.
-
19 November – Robert Huang (California Institute of Technology): Quantum algorithms for processing large-scale classical data and their potential computational advantages.
-
26 November – Johannes Zeiher (LMU Munich): Atom-array approaches to quantum computing and the development of interfaces for networked quantum systems.
The seminars take place online via Zoom. The access link is shared through the ML4Q mailing lists. Researchers outside the cluster who are interested in joining are welcome to contact the ML4Q Office.
Suggestions for topics and speakers for future Concepts series are always welcome via the ML4Q-internal Slack workspace or via email to the ML4Q Office.
