From September 9 to 12, 2026, the Physics Project Days (PPT) took place in Aachen for the third time! Over the course of these four days, 40 female students spent time at RWTH Aachen University.

This year, participants could choose from eleven exciting projects focused on current issues in physics. The topics included acoustic localization via sonar, astronomy and astroparticle physics, artificial intelligence, microwave measurements and superconductors, and various quantum experiments.

Working in small groups of two to four, the students under the guidance of researchers from the respective fields, explored these topics, conducted their own experiments, wrote code, and analyzed data. At the conclusion of the project phase, they presented their findings during a final colloquium, to which family and friends were also invited. In addition to the project work, the program featured a laboratory tour at the Forschungszentrum Jülich, as well as a Q&A session covering university studies.

The Physics Project Days in Aachen have been supported by ML4Q since they were first held in 2024.
