ML4Q members, Frank Wilhelm-Mauch and David Gross, contributed to the latest research-in-context article by the Science Media Center Germany (SMC) which provides journalists with sound facts and reliable scientific expertise about current research findings.

Last week Google Quantum AI published an article in the science magazine, Nature, where they demonstrate experimentally first improvements in the performance of quantum error correction with increasing qubit number, illuminating the path to reaching the logical error rates required for computation.

All experts agree: An important step forward, even if the practical improvement achieved in the study is still small.
