Winter semester 2015 | RWTH Aachen University | When Christoph Stampfer was about to hold his “Experimental Physics I” lecture for the first time, he thought that first year physics students should conduct many of the classical mechanics experiments by themselves – using their own phones. Sebastian Staacks, a postdoc in Christoph Stampfer’s group, built on his experience in coding apps and spent the whole academic year in developing phyphox – an app enabling physical phone experiments – not only free but open source as well!
